Backyard Adventures: Squirrel!

This afternoon I was in the backyard with my camera and I saw this squirrel grabbing an easy lunch. I kept getting a little closer and little closer while shooting until he finally ran away. Stop by my Facebook page to see the rest of my shots from the backyard today.

A day at the beach (analog love)

I spend a day at the beach on August 27th, I brought my Minolta 202 with my 28mm and telephoto lenses and two rolls of film, one 100 iso redscale and one 800 iso color.

Assignment №1 PO 260 (photography and moving pictures)

Our first assignment was to read a very short abstract story and work in groups to create 5 images to tell the story. Here is the story we were given to inspire our images:

“He (She) was tired of the year 2015. Too many things were wrong, too much noise in his head. Another place was the only solution, a place made of lights and darkness. The Time Machine will bring him there. A short-long trip. The new place wasn’t as expected. But it was new.”

Here is a link to the 5 images we came up with. Out of the 5 images, the two below got the best response from the rest of the class.

Say hello to my little friend

I pulled into the parking lot of a local greasy spoon for breakfast this morning and when I got out of my Jeep I found a little turtle sitting behind the vehicle next to me. I have no idea why it was in the middle of the parking lot but I am glad I had my camera with me.

DIY Tips and Tricks: Using a smartphone and flatbed scanner to scan film

Recently I came across this great tip for using a smartphone and a regular flatbed scanner to scan film. It is not perfect, but for down and dirty results it is better than nothing. Here are a couple examples I scanned using this method.
